Bakery Style Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins

These are my classic chocolate chip mini muffins with a lightly sweet buttery sponge and dark chocolate chips. I made these for my son's preschool Easter party along with my mini blueberry muffins. I almost always use dark chocolate chips in my bakery items as I find that you do not need extra sweetness from the chocolates when the batter itself is already sweet. In fact, the slight bitterness of dark chocolates accentuate flavours of the other components of a cake.
